Shower head material cost comparison: ABS vs brass vs stainless for B2B buyers

2026-09-30

When overseas buyers select shower heads, the material directly determines the price, product positioning, and long-term after-sales risks. The three mainstream materials - ABS, brass, and stainless steel - show significant differences in cost, performance, and market applicability.

ABS Plastic Shower Head

The ABS plastic shower head has the lowest raw material cost, is easy to process and shape, and can be made into various appearance designs. After electroplating, it has an outstanding appearance. It is suitable for budget-friendly mass orders and budget hotels. However, it has weak heat resistance and anti-aging capabilities. In a long-term high-temperature water environment, there is a risk of cracking and coating peeling, making it more suitable for markets with limited budgets and low quality assurance requirements.

Brass Shower Head

The brass shower head has the highest cost. The forged brass structure is stable, resistant to pressure and corrosion, and the threads are durable and not prone to slipping. It can meet the needs of the European and American high-end market and decoration projects. The product has a strong price advantage. However, it has a greater self-weight, and fluctuations in raw material prices will directly affect the order price.

Stainless Steel Shower Head

The stainless steel shower head is in the middle price range. It has excellent rust prevention performance, is lightweight, and is mostly processed using a brushed finish, making it less likely to leave fingerprints. 304 stainless steel is suitable for mid-range cross-border wholesale orders. However, the processing of complex shapes is difficult, and some low-priced thin-walled models should be cautious of the risk of sand holes and water leakage.

For B-end procurement, one cannot simply focus on the unit price. It is necessary to comprehensively consider the target market standards, warranty period, and after-sales costs for a balanced evaluation.
